  • Click on the Text Box feature and place the text box where you want it. 

  • You can also resize the box


Change the Color of the Text

  • Highlight the text and pick a color

Insert Images to represent areas 

  • Insert Image and choose where you want to pull the image from.  You can even search and insert straight from the internet. 


Outline or Draw on Map

  • Insert, Line, Scribble 

  • Scribble Allow you to freehand draw

Virtual Open House Back-to-School Tips

Letting Parents Know When, Where, and How to Log into Open House: 

  • Send a flyer via email

  • Provide an Open House  sign-in

  • Post in your online platform

  • Post on your website

  • Use a Remind or other parent communication account 

Create an Introduction Video: 

  • Introduce yourself

  • Give your educational background

  • Explain why you became a teacher

  • Give a brief overview of your expectations as a teacher

  • Make it short, sweet, and to the point

  • Here is an Open House Presentation Template

Review your Syllabus with Parents: 

  • Class overview of curriculum materials 

  • Contact information and office/planning hours

  • Resource library

  • How to access student grades

  • How students will access daily work

  • School schedule

  • Ways to stay informed

    • Link to school websites

    • Link to your website

    • Link to school app

  • Provide a link for parents to ask questions or provide your email address

  • Provide a calendar of upcoming events 

 

Engage Parents in the Classroom

  • Ensure that students have a way to connect with you to ask questions, whether this means you are available live or an email to connect.  

Tips for Students? 

  1. Create a designated work space. 

  2. Create a schedule and follow it. 

  3. Wake up each day and get dressed for school. 

  4. Drink lots of water. 

  5. Say goodbye to social media and your unused devices during school time. 

  6. Know which online platform you will be using. ____________

  7. Make sure your internet, microphone, and speakers are in working condition.  

  8. Use your school planner to keep track of due dates or make a calendar yourself. 

  9. Participate in the lesson! Ask questions, respond to questions, offer assistance.  

  10. Use glasses when looking at the screen if you wear them.  They have special screen lenses, but sometimes I just use sunglasses:) 

  11. Take breaks and stretch, walk, take your dog out, drink water, have a light snack.  

  12. Ask for help if you need it.  Everyone needs help sometimes.
